Enrich your field trip with the Hands-On History experience. We build a custom Andrew Jackson curriculum itinerary and tailor Hermitage lessons and materials to your needs before your visit.
You can choose to participate in any of our interactive education classes in addition to receiving a guided tour of the mansion and access to the grounds, film, museum and picnic areas. A class size of 15 students is required for participation.

How many students can I bring? +
We can comfortably accommodate up to 125-150 students at a time.
How do I prepare? +
Our education department will send you an itinerary, and you can download resources including pre- and post-activities for most of our programs here.
Will someone be accompanying us our entire visit? +
Hermitage educators will not be with you for your entire visit, but you can download our Teacher’s Guide to The Hermitage to quickly become an expert.
What if it’s supposed to rain? +
We will carry on with your field trip unless there are thunderstorms or severe weather. No students will be placed outdoors in case of lightning or rain. We will make every effort to reschedule if there is a weather-related cancellation.
Where do we go when we arrive? +
Our staff will meet you in the Andrew Jackson Visitor Center breezeway to handle payment and get you started.
