Join us for a FREE day of genealogy and preserving family history at the Nashville Public Library!

Interested in discovering your family’s roots?  The African-American Historical & Genealogical Society will be offering guidance on how to get started with your genealogy research and some of the resources available. AAHGS expert Taneya Koonce will present “Getting Started with your African American Genealogy Research” from 1:00-2:00pm, providing useful insights for first-timers and veteran researchers alike. Following the presentation, AAHGS members will offer personal consultation sessions with anyone wanting to discuss specific questions and challenges with your family research.

NEW IN 2019: A team from Tennessee State University (The Preservation Project) will be offering FREE scanning services all day for anyone looking to digitize and save old photographs or documents. Staff from The Hermitage will also be on hand to offer advice on preserving the originals and caring for family antiques and keepsakes, so they’ll be in top condition for future generations.
