In honor of Black History Month, Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage will offer select stories from the upcoming “In Their Footsteps: Lives of the Hermitage Enslaved” tour with admission on select weekends. These stories will highlight the lives of the enslaved men and women who lived at The Hermitage during the life of Andrew Jackson and beyond his death. Tour guides will discuss how vital their lives were to the operation of the plantation, the harsh reality of the enslaved system and how these men and women endured until gaining their freedom.
Included with admission. Tours are 20 minutes long every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on February 14th, 15th, 16th, 28th, and 29th as well as March 1st. Tours will start at the back porch of the Mansion and are on the hour, every hour, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. No sign up needed.
