Join us to celebrate President Jackson’s 251st Birthday and receive half-price general admission for the day! The celebration will include our annual wreath-laying ceremony with the Tennessee National Guard at 11:00am at the President’s Tomb. In addition guests will get to play 19th-century Cricket games on the lawn, interact with General Jackson and his fellow War of 1812 soldiers, enjoy period music on the back porch, and get a birthday treat!
Visit with our nation’s founding women Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, and Dolley Madison who came to join in the festivities! Visitors young and old will get the chance to interact with these First Ladies and learn how they each carved the character of the new United States. Join Mrs. Adams and experience the pomp of the court of British St. James. Then Mrs. Washington will instruct you on formal etiquette when visiting the President during a Levee. Finally attend one of Mrs. Madison’s famous Crushes, and be on hand to help her save the important papers of state and General Washington’s portrait during the War of 1812!
