It’s a Run for the Roses kind of night at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage. Back by popular demand and with a Kentucky Derby theme, Sip of History will feature an evening of wine, whiskey, food, live music and favorites from the popular horse race.

You will have access to more than 10 samples from Natchez Hills Winery and Big Machine Distillery, and once you have chosen your favorite(s), a bar will be available with full glasses for purchase. The Love Bus will also be onsite, serving up their popular tender smoked meats fused together with fresh truck-made ingredients.

Entertainment that night includes live music, betting games and the return of Wager to Win: Art of the Southern Gentleman, an interactive program that demonstrates how horseracing shaped Andrew Jackson’s life. You will even get the chance to place bets on one of Jackson’s most famous races, a heated contest between his prized horse Pacolet and his rival Haynie’s Maria. In this race, all bets are off! The Museum Store will also be open so that you can shop for all of your favorite Hermitage souvenirs and unique gifts.

Be sure to don your best Kentucky Derby hat for your chance to walk away with a prize!

Your ticket also includes access to the Hermitage grounds, 1,120 acres, including a historic garden, wildlife, field quarters, historical markers and more—perfect for enjoying a spring evening while continuing to remain safely distanced. Dogs are welcome and are free to walk, run and play while leashed on our site. Please bring bags to dispose of pet waste.

**Please note that, while checking in at the ticket office and in line for the tastings, bar or the food trucks, attendees will be required to wear masks and maintain at least 6 feet away from those not in their party.**

A portion of all sales will support the Andrew Jackson Foundation’s mission to preserve the home place of Andrew Jackson, create learning opportunities and inspire informed citizenship.
