Hermitage Mansion Annual Maintenance

As part of the Andrew Jackson Foundation’s mission of preservation, The Hermitage Mansion will undergo annual maintenance during the months of January and February. Among the projects that will be undertaken include cleaning of windows, chandeliers and conservation of the beloved Telemachus wallpaper. The Hermitage Mansion will not be available to tour on Wednesday, January 10, 17, 24 or 31, as well as on Tuesday, February 6 and Wednesday, February 7, 14 and 21.

The Hermitage team is providing other opportunities to view and learn about the mansion in various, unique ways:

  • Interpreters will be stationed on the front porch and back porch of the mansion to share information and to answer questions.
  • Visitors can access the mansion spaces regularly available to view from the outside, including the parlors, dining room, pantry and kitchen.
  • A 30-minute presentation, “The Hermitage Mansion: From the Outside In,” will be available at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. in the Andrew Jackson Center Theater. On display will be several objects from the mansion.
  • The Hermitage Church will also be open to tour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on these days. A team member will share “The Hermitage and the Hereafter,” a 30-minute presentation about the church and the three cemeteries on the property at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

All experiences, including the all-new audio tours, are included as part of a Grounds Pass.

Don’t miss your chance to see and hear these unique opportunities!
