Museum Collection Department Gets New Inventory Control System

Thanks to the generosity of the Frist Foundation, the Andrew Jackson Foundation Collection department has improved technology in place for a more efficient and accurate inventory of our extensive collection.

The Frist grant provided funding to purchase a state-of-the-art scanner and a laser printer for barcodes. Now, every item in the collection will have its own ID tag that includes an object ID, photograph, short description, and a barcode.  Once this tagging is complete, location information will be available with a simple scan! In addition, this new system will prevent collection damage from excessive handling, which will help ensure the items will be available for the enjoyment of future generations

Our sincere thanks to the Frist Foundation!
