Commander in Chief Tour

Experience Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage in an exclusive tour with the President and CEO of the Andrew Jackson Foundation, Howard J. Kittell. This tour will happen twice a month and has limited spots!

The new Commander in Chief walking tour gives visitors a 90-minute glimpse of the grounds, mansion, garden and tomb where the President and Mrs. Jackson are buried. While in the mansion, visitors have the opportunity to take in the view from the beautiful Hermitage balcony!

The tour concludes in the garden* with a wine tasting experience from Natchez Hills Winery and continued conversation with Mr. Kittell. Drawing on his nearly 15 years of preserving and presenting The Hermitage, Mr. Kittell will delight guests with his knowledge and insights into the Home of the People’s President.

*To ensure a memorable experience for ticket holders, a minimum of one ticket must be sold 24 hours before the tour for the wine tasting to take place in the garden. In the event that tickets are sold within 24 hours of the tour, or in the case of inclement weather, the wine tasting experience will take place indoors. Available for every ticket holder 21 years of age and older.
