  • What are your hours of operation? +

    Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage is currently open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Ticket Office closes at 5 p.m.

     

  • Are tickets sold onsite or in person? +

    Tickets are sold both in our Ticket Office and online. Purchasing your ticket in advance for the day and time of your choosing is the best way to guarantee your entry into the Hermitage mansion.

  • What happens if I come to The Hermitage without a ticket purchased ahead of my arrival? +

    If you do not have a ticket before you arrive at The Hermitage, you can use your smartphone to purchase a ticket online or purchase your ticket at the Ticket Office. If maximum capacity for your time period has been reached, you will not be able to purchase a ticket with access to the mansion.

    If you are having issues purchasing online, please email us at [email protected] with your contact information, date and time you would like to visit and the number of tickets you would like to buy. We will reach out to you to help secure your ticket. Please note that this could take up to 48 hours.

  • What is your late arrival policy? +

    All tickets for Mansion Tours and specialty tours are sold on a timed-entry basis. If you miss your entry time, please let the mansion staff know ASAP. You may also inquire at the Ticket Office about any other available entries. Otherwise, your ticket includes access to the Andrew Jackson Center and museum, as well as a self-guided tour of the garden and grounds.

  • What to do if the day/time I want is sold out? +

    Please reserve tickets ahead of time in order to secure admission on the day you prefer. If Mansion Tour tickets are sold out for any given time or day, please select another date or time to visit.

    Please note: Grounds Passes are always available for purchase!

  • What is included in a ticket? +

    All tickets purchased to The Hermitage include access to the Andrew Jackson Center, where our film, Jackson, is shown, as well as where our museum and exhibit is located. You also are able to visit the garden, other historic buildings on the site and enjoy walking trails, historical markers and more on the 1,120 acres that make up The Hermitage. Don’t forget to stop by Natchez Hills Winery for your discounted wine tasting as well!*

    Mansion Tour tickets include a guided tour of the Hermitage mansion.

    Specialty tour tickets (including our VIP Tour, In Their Footsteps Tour and Commander in Chief Tour) include a completely guided tour of the museum, mansion and more.

  • What do I do while I wait for my mansion or specialty tour? +

  • What happens if it rains? +

    Tours at The Hermitage happen rain or shine, and no refunds will be issued as a result of inclement weather while the site remains open. If the site closes during the time of your visit, ticket holders will be offered a refund or transfer. If you purchased tickets with a discount and the site closes due to inclement weather, you will be able to transfer those tickets to another date or be refunded the total amount you paid for the tickets.

  • Are dogs allowed? +

    Yes, our Grounds Pass allows dogs to roam the historic grounds of The Hermitage as long as they remain leashed. They are not allowed inside any building, including the Hermitage mansion or Andrew Jackson Center. Please bring bags to dispose of waste.

  • Is The Hermitage wheelchair accessible? +

    Motorized and non-motorized wheelchairs are welcome at The Hermitage. Due to the historic nature of our site, much of the grounds may present challenges to those in wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking. Many of our paths are paved, and wheelchair ramps are available at the Hermitage mansion.

    Please note: The Hermitage mansion does not have an elevator, so the second floor is not accessible to those in wheelchairs. Interpreters on the first floor have photos available of the rooms on the second floor and would be happy to provide explanations of those rooms.

  • How do I get to The Hermitage? +

    If you are not driving to The Hermitage, we recommend utilizing a rideshare like Lyft or Uber or a taxi service. Public transportation does come to the Hermitage community, but the stops are not convenient to our site.

  • Is there a fee to park? +

    No, The Hermitage offers parking for all guests at no charge. A separate lot is also available for buses, trucks with trailers and campers.

  • What are the hours at the Museum Store? +

    The Museum Store is currently open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Do you offer a military discount? +

    Yes, we are honored to offer a discount to both active military and military veterans on our Mansion Tour tickets. Please refer to this page for pricing.

  • Do you welcome groups to The Hermitage? +

    Whether you are a school or tour group, we love having groups of all sizes. Please visit our Groups page for more information.

  • Do you offer a bag check? +

    No, we do not offer a bag check. Please leave backpacks, large camera bags and large purses in your vehicle. Any items worn or carried are subject to search.

  • How can I support The Hermitage? +

    We are glad you asked! Established in 1889, the Andrew Jackson Foundation is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to the mission of preserving the homeplace of Andrew Jackson, creating learning opportunities and inspiring citizenship through experiencing the life and unique impact of Jackson. Because the site receives no ongoing state or federal funding, the philanthropic support of our donors, members and visitors is essential to advancing our mission and sharing this 1,120-acre National Historic Landmark with the public.   • Do you have a restaurant? +

    Yes, FKS Kitchen is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located in the Andrew Jackson Center.

  • How do I become a member? +

    Becoming a member of The Hermitage comes with perks throughout the year, like unlimited admission, newsletters from our curator, discount to the Museum Store, unlimited tastings at Natchez Hills Winery at The Hermitage and more. Click here for further details on our membership levels.

  • Are food and drink allowed? +

    Food and drink are not permitted in the Hermitage mansion or in the Andrew Jackson Center. Picnics are welcome! Picnic tables are available in the courtyard outside the Andrew Jackson Center and at the Hermitage Church. We encourage visitors to carry bottled water while on the grounds.

    A great idea is to visit our onsite tasting room, Natchez Hills, and purchase wine by the glass or bottle to enjoy while on the grounds!
