Weathering the Storm Campaign Wrap-Up

THANK YOU!

We are so grateful to our supporters who stepped up in a major way in response to our Weathering the Storm emergency fundraising campaign. This unprecedented fundraising effort, inspired by President Jackson’s famous proclamation – “I was born for a storm, and a calm does not suit me” – was introduced at the beginning of our 2021 fiscal year in response to the devastating financial impact of COVID-19. When the pandemic arrived and tourism evaporated, The Hermitage closed its doors for two months and operated at a greatly reduced capacity for the next 12 months. Throughout, we asked you to support the Andrew Jackson Foundation and help us continue offering mission critical preservation and education programs both virtually and in-person. Nearly 1,000 of you answered the call, helping us not only achieve our goal, but EXCEED it! At the end of our fiscal year on June 30, we raised a total of $3,033,386.70 in donations, all of it immediately put to work operating the site and developing new ticket offerings and programs to provide a safer, more streamlined experience for our visitors, members and donors. This year, there is still much to do, but the work ahead would not be possible without your remarkable generosity over the past year.

From all of us at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, THANK YOU!
